(written by mom on December 3, 2020) Tyler, your mission was so awesome! We loved the letters and pictures and what a treat it was after a few months to be able to talk with you weekly! It was amazing to see your growth and the miracles that happened and the people you were able to minister to and teach. What a blessing it was to learn from your example! Because of the corona virus (covid), missionaries around the world were sent home, and because you had served over 18 months already, you were honorably released. What a crazy, unexpected and abrupt ending to your mission! It was a sweet tender mercy that you were able to get out of Brazil and arrive home on your birthday! The airport was like a ghost town, very strange! But, oh what joy it was when we saw you come up the escalator! Brother Miller from another ward, caught it on video. Such a sweet and tender reunion! I imagine it will be similar in heaven when we return to loved ones who have missed us so much! You arrived home in the middle of our packing and selling most of our stuff. I was so grateful that you were able to see the home again before we moved, and were able to see ward members (though we couldn't go to church). Many friends came and did a drive-by welcome home! That is on video too. We also had fun at the pool, hamburgers, a birthday party, and fun in the yard! You were a huge help with our move to Cedar City, and you've since been to your first semester of college at the Merchant Marine Academy. I cannot express how much we love you and how proud we are of you! We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for you as you continue to serve God, Family, and Country! May these mission pictures and letters bring back fond memories that you will treasure forever!
